Waikato DHB is closing in on the 90 percent double jabbed mark

It's only 505 doses away from the milestone...and will be the ninth DHB to achieve it.

It comes as New Zealand recorded 46 new community cases today -- 30 in Auckland, six in Waikato, four in Lakes, three in Northland, two in Tairawhiti and one in Canterbury.

There are 48 people in hospital - eight in HDU or ICU.

Officials says testing numbers remain lower than usual in the holiday period - there were eight thousand 773 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.
