Worker shortages are continuing to have an impact on the horticulture industry

Worker shortages are continuing to have an impact on the horticulture industry

Fruit growers in the south are reporting staffing issues due to ongoing border closures and the country's low unemployment rate.

Webb's Orchard owner Simon Webb says those who prepared early have staff, but fewer walk- ins than usual is having an effect.

He says they have a good core base of staff but as the season's continued they haven't been able to pick up extras to help.
