Barbora Krejcikova has cleared a major hurdle in her pursuit of a maiden Australian tennis Open title

The Czech and fourth seed has beaten Belarussian Victoria Azarenka - a two-time singles champion in Melbourne - 6-2, 6-2 to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Krejcikova is elated to overcome an opponent she greatly respects.

Krejcikova will face American Madison Keys next, who earlier upset eighth-seeded Spaniard Paula Badosa in straight sets.
