Tiaan Whelpton is taking off on a different type of runway

Tiaan Whelpton is taking off on a different type of runway

The part time model's rapid rise on the track and field scene continues with the 21 year old equalling the residential record across 100 metres in Hastings at the weekend.

His time of 10.18 seconds is eight hundredths of a second shy of the A-mark for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Whelpton says he's only fully committed to sprinting in the last couple of years.
