A man will appear in court for allegedly stealing a car, fleeing police and crashing into another vehicle

Police received a report last night from a person who said their car was stolen and travelling along Bassett Street in Burwood.

They attempted to stop the vehicle in Redwood, and the driver fled, before crashing into another car on Belfast's Radcliffe Road.

Police arrested two people and a 20-year-old man is facing multiple charges including unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.

He's due in the Christchurch District Court today.
