A window of opportunity to deal with systemic issues leaving tenants in the lurch

The Government is proposing stricter regulations for rental property managers.

But the Property Managers Institute says it should cover all property management companies, and private landlords.

President David Pearse they're strong advocates for regulation - but says there's a fixation on property managers who only account for 40 to 50 per cent of rentals.

Pearse is concerned the Government will continue to tick boxes but not deal with the real issues.
