Nico Porteous will be seeded second for the final of the men's freeski halfpipe finals at the Beijing Olympics

After a first run that placed him eighth overall, Porteous improved mightily on his next, to qualify second-best only behind American Aaron Blunck.

Park and Pipe head coach Tom Wilmot is pleased with his qualifying.

Nico's brother Miguel also qualified, coming in ninth.
