An extensive search for a missing Papamoa doctor has yet to turn up any clues

Tauranga Police Search and Rescue and 148 volunteers focused the search on the sand dunes between Karewa Parada and Ocean Beach Toad.

Police say David Holland told friends last Friday evening he was going for a swim but later failed to come to work.

While 36 items were located and reported to Police, officers say none had any relevance to the 31-year-old man.

Tauranga Coast Guard have been relaying an "all stations" message to recreational boats, asking them to remain vigilant to anything of interest.

The search will continue this weekend.
