Power remains off in parts of Tairawhiti

A heavy rain watch is in force for Gisborne and Wairoa until 9pm tomorrow.
It comes after severe rain slammed the East Coast last week, causing extensive damage to roads and properties.
Eastland Network General Manager Jarred Moroney says power is off in Ihungia, part of Tolaga, and Waimata Valley.
He says they discovering some areas that are without power that haven't been reported.
Meanwhile, Civil Defence says contractors are also working to fix roading issues in Anaura, Mata and Ihungia.
State Highway 35 between Tokomaru Bay and Te Puia remains closed.
