BNZ says it is working to implement a fix to the system issues it's experiencing today

In a post on its Facebook page just after 1 it says while they don't have an expected time ofor a fix to share, they'll continue to provide updates.

They say in the meantime, customers who have had their card declined while using PayWave can try inserting it into the terminal.

The bank says it's not a solution for 100 percent of transactions but should prove effective for a large number of them.

It says credit cards are not impacted by the issues and are working as usual.
