Cost pressures on New Zealand's collision repairers are tightening their grip

The billion dollar industry is set to lose 15 per cent of its annual revenue to a combination of factors.
They're calling it a perfect financial storm - as the pandemic, skill shortages and inflation takes its toll.
Collision Repair Network general manager Neil Pritchard says collision repairers are price-takers, not price-makers and are given what insurance companies pay them.
He says they're facing increasing costs, but there's no mechanism to force insurers to engage in increased rates.
