Black Ferns coach Wayne Smith admits his side's trying to find balance in the final stages of preparation before big tests

The New Zealand women face the United States in Whangarei this afternoon after wins over Australia and Canada in the Pacific Four Series.

They've scored nine tries in the two wins - with just one coming in the first half.

Smith says slow starts is something he tried to combat during his time with the All Blacks.

    Kick off is at 4pm.
