    NZ men and women's 2018 sevens sides won Commonwealth gold, but in 2022 both reduced to bronze play-offs

    In 2018 the New Zealand men and women's sevens sides won Commonwealth Games gold on the Gold Coast, but both have been reduced to bronze-medal play-offs in Birmingham


    The men play Australia, the women meet Canada.

    Men's coach Clark Laidlaw says his side already feels like they've played a decider after a 19-14 extra time semi-final loss to Fiji.



    The women play at 6.50am, followed by the men at 7.12am.
