A cycling advocate rejects claims an alternative route to Newtown would be better for people on bikes

The current council plan proposes a link from Newtown to the city via Cambridge Terrace, removing 50 carparks and a lane of traffic.
Gazley Motors' Myles Gazley suggests the cycleway should instead run through the centre traffic island on Cambridge Terrace.
But Cycle Wellington's Patrick Morgan is not a fan.
He says there are 29-thousand places for cars to park in Central Wellington, and we can live with losing a handful for safe biking lanes.
