Christchurch Police are hunting a man who car-jacked a vehicle from a teenager in broad daylight, at a busy sports venue

The teen was looking for a carpark at Aranui's Cowles Stadium on Saturday afternoon, when he saw someone from school days.

He says when he opened his window to speak, a man jumped out of the girl's car into his, making him drive through local streets, before forcing him out - and stealing it.

The car's been found, and police are requesting a forensic examination.
