An urgency motion will be moved in Parliament tonight to make up for a week's worth of missed House time after the Queen's death

An urgency motion will be moved in Parliament tonight to make up for a week's worth of missed House time after the Queen's death

Leader of the House Chris Hipkins confirmed the move after Business Committee today.

He says urgency is expected to continue until the end of Friday, but depending on progress could go into Saturday.

Hipkins says they make every effort to minimise the use of urgency - but it's necessary to get some Bills to committee this year.

The Water Services Bill is included in the urgency motion, to extend the hours it can be debated.

Its third reading will be in December.
