    The Auckland Tuatara are ready for their first home Australian Baseball League game in almost three years tonight at North Harbour Stadium


    One reason is the number of players they're fielding from American MLB sides.

    Manager Steve Mintz has loan players from the Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants, as well as three New Zealanders with the Chicago White Sox, the Detroit Tigers, and the Philadelphia Phillies.

    Mintz is grateful for his major league connections.



    Mintz says MLB reps from the Rangers and the Padres are flying out over Christmas to watch the Tuatara.
