A New Zealand company has launched a world first re-usable, repairable and recyclable pallet system

Pallet Earth's products are made from recycled plastic, and transporting one from Asia to Europe creates only three-kilograms of greenhouse gases.

The company says shifting a standard wooden pallet causes 12-kilograms.

General manager Dave Cashmore says the pallets also come with an inbuilt tracking device.

This allows shippers to monitoring temperatures and the way goods are handled, to better understand what happens on a journey and to reduce waste.
