A pair have been arrested after an early morning robbery of a parcel van in Auckland today

The pair of thieves stole the van while it was on Sussex Street in the inner city's Grey Lynn.

Witnesses on the street say the courier driver was seen screaming for help as the white van sped off.

Police, with the help of the Eagle Helicopter tracked the pair as they drove erratically to St Lukes Shopping Centre in Mount Albert.

Two men were arrested shortly after they ran off, police say charges are likely.

NZ Post says it's supporting the driver.
