Wellington Police were led by a cyclist on a stolen bike on a low-speed chase through the central city yesterday afternoon

Senior Sergeant Mark Lewis says officers signalled the man thought to be on a stolen bike worth nearly three-thousand dollars on Cuba Street.
He says he didn't stop and continued to ride through the city, swerving past pedestrians and the officers pounding the streets in pursuit.
They eventually tackled the 28-year-old on the waterfront and arrested him.
He's been charged with unlawfully taking a bicycle, receiving property, failing to stop - and breach of bail.
