A brawl originally planned for Hamilton could be on the move to Tauranga

A brawl originally planned for Hamilton could be on the move to Tauranga

Extra police have been called in to monitor the area around the Bayfield Shopping Centre in Tauranga city.

Earlier today Hamiltonians were warned to stay away from their city centre because of a potential brawl spurred on by social media.

Tauranga Police say it would be good for people to postpone their trips to the shopping centre if possible.

There's also been reports of a similar event planned in Wellington's Lower Hutt.
