    An exodus is underway at the Wellington Phoenix


    The club are losing more than a third of their men's playing squad ahead of the next A-League season.

    They have released a list of player departures - which include under-23 player of the year and recent All White debutant Callan Elliot.

    The club had been in talks to retain him before the most recent campaign ended.

    Import Yan Sasse , Lucas Mauragis , Josh Laws and Nikko Boxall will also leave - joining the previously announced exits of Oli Sail, Clayton Lewis and Steven Ugarkovic .

    Phoenix director of football Shaun Gill has reflected on the losses.



    The club remains in discussions to retain midfielder Nicholas Pennington.
