    Validation for sprinter Tiaan Whelpton as he looks to break Eddie Osei-Nketia's 100 metre national record


    He shaved time off his personal best twice at a meet in Yokohama.

    His new mark of 10.14 seconds is six hundredths of a second off Osei-Nketia's best.

    Whelpton says an off-season training block has already paid dividends.



    Whelpton has been conditionally selected for the world championships at Budapest in August.
