Concern about the Therapeutic Products Bill's impact on patients has sparked a march on Parliament
7 June 2023
An open letter has been delivered to Parliament today, signed by 68 health advocacy, medical, Maori health provider and patient organisations.
It warns the bill -- to regulate medicines and natural products -- will unfairly control traditional Maori medicine and access to unfunded drugs.
Patient Voice Aotearoa's Malcolm Mulholland says if the bill proceeds in its current form, people will die.
He says the major concern is for many New Zealand patients is that their avenues for accessing medicines will no longer exist.
