    Tense scenes in Opotiki -- as gang members and vehicles line the streets following the death of the Mongrel Mob Barbarians president


    Steven Rota Taiatini was killed on Friday.

    Opotiki Primary School is closing today and tomorrow, due to safety and wellbeing concerns of students during "difficult and trying times"

    Opotiki College will remain closed for the rest of the week.

    Bus services have also closed for safety reasons.

    Mayor David Moore says there's heightened tension and concern in the area.
