Belgium shot put and hammer throw champion Jolien Boumkwo has stepped in to run the 100 metre hurdles at the European Championships in Poland to save her team from disqualification.

She carefully attempted and completed each obstacle when two teammates had to pull out due to injury.

The 29-year-old thundered down the track in 32.81 seconds, more than 19 seconds behind the winner.
