A tourism hotspot says isn't worried about rental car shortages

A tourism hotspot says isn't worried about rental car shortages

The Rental Vehicle Association says they could up to 10-thousand vehicles short in the peak tourism season -- because of global supply issues and the Clean Car Scheme.

But Destination Queenstown boss, Mat Woods, says although transitioning to an environmentally friendly fleet is a challenge, it's worth it.

Woods says rapidly de-carbonising the fleet is important, and if there is a small period when stock's down - it's a small price to pay.

Woods says Queenstown is in a good position despite the shortage, thanks to shuttles and public transport.
