Good progress has been made in the construction of Dunedin's new hospital

Good progress has been made in the construction of Dunedin's new hospital

Fifty percent of the footprint of the inpatients building has been excavated, using recycled concrete.

Contractors have started advanced work on the foundation systems for the outpatients building, and the steel erection phase is expected to start at the end of next month.

Te Whatu Ora Director of Delivery Monique Fowler says the outpatients building is aiming for a five-star green suitability rating.

She says the outpatients building will be complete in 2025, while the inpatients building will open in 2029.
