A new study says rental inflation is being driven by rising wages -- but not all are convinced

A new study says rental inflation is being driven by rising wages -- but not all are convinced

It comes from the Ministry of Housing and Urban development, the Reserve Bank and Treasury.

It's found from the last three months of 2003 to June of last year -- for every one percent increase in income, rent increased by one percent.

Property Investors' Federation President Sue Harrison, says the price of rentals is influenced by the bills owners have to pay.
She says it's out of touch with the drivers of the market and those people need to be consulted.
