Scott McLaughlin has tipped his cap to fastest qualifier Graham Rahal after the Kiwi driver just missed out on pole for tomorrow's IndyCar Grand Prix of Portland

The former Supercars champion was just POINT ZERO THREE of a second from clocking the fastest time in qualifying.

McLaughlin says it was fine margins - on Sky Sport.



Countryman Scott Dixon - who sits second overall with two races remaining - has qualified fourth fastest.

Championship leader and team-mate Alex Palou will start from one spot back - in fifth.
