A member of New Zealand's superb current crop of race car drivers is backing Liam Lawson to rise to the challenge a testing track presents him for this weekend's Singapore Formula One Grand Prix

After coming through a wild Dutch GP unscathed and then narrowly missing out on the points in Italy - Lawson's third F1 race comes on the Marina Bay street circuit.

Richie Stanaway - who makes his Supercars return in Melbourne this weekend - says Singapore is a tricky track to navigate, but he's backing his young countryman.



Lawson is in action in the first practice session at Singapore from 9.30 tonight - with the Grand Prix at midnight on Sunday.
