The Phoenix don't want to put Football Ferns veteran Annalie Longo at risk early in the A-League Women's season

The Phoenix don't want to put Football Ferns veteran Annalie Longo at risk early in the A-League Women's season

The experienced midfielder won't feature in Wellington's second round tomorrow at Western Sydney as she tends to muscle weakness - a repercussion of an ACL injury she suffered last year.

Despite returning to the park for New Zealand at the Fifa Women's World Cup in July, Phoenix assistant coach Callum Holmes says there's good reason to be patient with her highly anticipated club return.
