A former communications manager for a top Auckland private school has been discharged without conviction, after being found guilty of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl at St Cuthbert's College

A former communications manager for a top Auckland private school has been discharged without conviction, after being found guilty of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl at St Cuthbert's College

Jemma Taylor continues to deny the charges.

The 38-year-old's lawyers say she had a lucrative new job offer, but it depended on her not having a conviction on her record, which might hamper her ability for international travel.

The victim came forward nine years after the offending, upon learning her abuser was working at St Cuths, where the victim was also employed.

The now-adult victim indicated she would feel disheartened and disappointed in the justice system if the discharge was granted, and it was also opposed by the Crown.
