Hopes the Wellington Phoenix can maintain their strong record in Auckland moving forward

Hopes the Wellington Phoenix can maintain their strong record in Auckland moving forward

Their 1-nil win over Melbourne City means the Nix have only been beaten once in 17 matches in the City of Sails.

It's also likely to be their final home game in Auckland, with an expansion side in the country's largest city set to join the A-League in 2024.

But Phoenix coach Giancarlo Italiano isn't deterred.

The Phoenix women are pleased to be heading into an international break with momentum...having pipped the previously unbeaten Perth 2-1 at Mt Smart.

The Nix have won four of their opening six matches to be just one point off the top-placed teams...and coach Paul Temple is rapt the pause in the comp will allow his squad to overcome injury niggles and freshen up.
