A fire has ripped through multiple houses and forced evacuations in Auckland's Mangere Bridge

Fire and Emergency Shift Manager Gareth Lewis says they were called to the scene on Coronation Road just before 3am.
On arrival they found multiple houses on fire -- and 14 fire trucks are at the scene.
Police evacuated residents of nearby addresses on Mountain Road and Koru Street as a precaution.
A firefighter at the scene told TVNZ five structures had been destroyed after the fire began in an old building.
He says due to the age of the buildings there could be an asbestos risk.
Everyone has been accounted for, and fire investigators are attending.
