    A 23-year-old man has been jailed for five years and eight months after a horror crash in Napier last year


    After leaving a party with 8 others in his five-seater SUV, Mithias Te Pou crashed during a police chase.

    His cousin died and his partner was made a paraplegic.

    Others in the car were also seriously injured.

    Earlier in the night, Te Pou had consumed drugs and alcohol - and was found to be more than twice the legal limit for someone on a full licence.

    He was unlicensed.
