Building experts are warning of the risk of further earthquakes, as the scale of Wellington's unsafe buildings comes to light

Building experts are warning of the risk of further earthquakes, as the scale of Wellington's unsafe buildings comes to light

In a briefing to Wellington City Council, it was revealed only 20 percent of earthquake-prone buildings are on track to meet standards before the 2027 deadline.

AUT Construction Professor, John Tookey, says strengthening needs to be done before the next quake strikes.
