    A new report has ranked the regions on economic activity, showing Auckland and Otago on top, and Tasman sitting on the bottom


    The ASB Regional Scoreboard shows a surge for Auckland, which jumped from 10th place last quarter, due to an influx of migration.

    ASB Senior Economist Kim Mundy says it's illustrative of the wider economic picture.

    She says it's a challenging time for households at the moment, due to the cost of living.
