The Bay of Plenty is looking to reap the rewards of a bumper cruise ship season

Port of Tauranga is expecting 113 cruise ships to call this summer -- the busiest since the pandemic.
Tauranga Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Matt Cowley says stereotypically a number of cruise passengers are cashed up and wanting to spend.
He says depending on the type of offering - whether that's the adventure market, sighting-seeing or learning, there's some good spending to be done by passengers.
