Belief this year must be a turning point for improving workplace safety

A recent Business Leaders' Health and Safety Forum report shows the total cost of fatalities, serious injuries and health effects totaled 4.4 billion dollars in 2022 alone.

Forum CEO Francois Barton says our performance is stalling and fatality rates remain stubbornly high.

He says we're way behind other countries.

Barton says we're half as safe as Australia and the UK is five times safer than us, with the performances over there improving while we've been flat lining.
