Breakers coach Mody Maor insists he hasn't lost his optimism for what they can achieve as the pointy end of the season looms in basketball's NBL

A rough start to their campaign - including a swag of injuries - has the New Zealand outfit down in eighth on the standings.

But with players returning - and a stretch of four straight wins prior to Sunday's loss to Perth - Maor says they have the right stuff to make a run, starting with tonight's game against Melbourne United in New Plymouth.

Tonight's game tips off at 7.30.
