The family of Christchurch man David Bridgwater, who was killed in Aranui last month, say they are still battling to come to terms with his death

The family of Christchurch man David Bridgwater, who was killed in Aranui last month, say they are still battling to come to terms with his death

The 38-year-old was found with gunshot wounds, next to his still-running car, last month.

A 54-year-old New Brighton man charged with his murder has been granted interim name suppression.

He was arrested at a semi-rural property in Timaru.

Bridgwater's brother Jason says the family are thankful to police for their work, adding it's going to be a long road.

The accused will appear in the High Court at Christchurch in two weeks.
