    A bitter pre-season blow for the Blues


    Captain Patrick Tuipulotu suffered a fractured jaw in the pre-season win over Tokyo Sungoliath and will be out of rugby for eight to ten weeks.

    The All Blacks lock has landed home in New Zealand this morning for surgery.

    Blues coach Vern Cotter says a decision on who will take over the captaincy will be made in the coming days.

    The Blues remain in Japan ahead of their second pre-season outing against Yokohama next Saturday.

    The Chiefs have been beaten 38-14 by the Saitama Wild Knights.
