    The Crusaders will be without new recruit Leigh Halfpenny for the bulk of the Super Rugby season


    The former Wales international tore a pec muscle in Sunday's preseason clash with Munster at Cork.

    Assistant coach Tamati Ellison says Halfpenny will have surgery in the UK.

    Ellison says while they're unsure of the exact recovery time frame - they're hopeful he'll play some part in their campaign.
