Confidence from Breakers big man Mangok Mathiang that it'll be third time lucky against the Illawarra Hawks, in tonight's NBL clash at Spark Arena

Confidence from Breakers big man Mangok Mathiang that it'll be third time lucky against the Illawarra Hawks, in tonight's NBL clash at Spark Arena

The New Zealand club have gone down twice to the visitors this season - losing both contests by four points.

Mathiang - a former Illawarra Hawk - wants revenge against his old side.

The Breakers need to win three of their last four regular season games to be in with a chance for the playoffs.

    Tipoff is after 7.30.

Sin-bins in football could be on the way.

But Wellington Phoenix defender Tim Payne is sceptical about introducing so-called "blue cards".

The International Football Association Board, the game's law-making body, has reportedly signed off on trials which would see players sin-binned for 10 minutes for cynical fouls or showing dissent towards referees.

Payne says further complications to the sport could bite.

The Phoenix play Western United in the A-League tomorrow at 5.30pm.

Bowling all-rounder Michael Neser has been recalled to Australia's test cricket squad as Pat Cummins' team embarks on a red-ball tour of New Zealand for the first time in eight years.

Neser is the only inclusion after Australia's series against Pakistan and West Indies this summer... he played the last of his two Tests in December 2022.

The NFL coaching carousel has stopped without Bill Belichick landing a job.

Belichick, who mutually parted ways with the New England Patriots last month after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles, had only two interviews during this year's cycle, both with the Atlanta Falcons, who decided to hire Raheem Morris instead.

If Belichick doesn't take an NFL job as an assistant, next season will be the first time since 1975 that he will be absent from the competition.
