Some hard decisions for Wellington City Councillors, over their next budget

Some hard decisions for Wellington City Councillors, over their next budget

Councillors have agreed to cut funding for graffiti removal, fireworks, and the Khandallah Pool, as they prioritise funding for water infrastructure.

Other libraries and swimming pools have been saved from cuts.

Mayor Tory Whanau says slashing spending on council services and programmes was a tough decision, but it was the right thing to do.

She says she's heard the call from the public to focus on water, and is following through.
