Charges have been dropped against the man arrested in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man in a Christchurch park, before Christmas

Charges have been dropped against the man arrested in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 27-year-old man in a Christchurch park, before Christmas

Anaru Williams was found dead in Wycola Park in Hei Hei in the early hours of December 22.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with assault.

A police spokesperson says police carried out a review once the investigation was complete, and determined under the Solicitor General's Guidelines, the threshold for prosecution had not been met.

A 31-year-old woman is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, while a youth has been referred to youth aid.
