Universities could be at risk of running out of money this year

Universities could be at risk of running out of money this year

A briefing from the Tertiary Education Commission -- seen by our newsroom -- shows ways to increase revenue are being considered.

Options include raising international and domestic fees, raising domestic enrolments, increasing research revenue, and seeking to increase other revenue through hospitality and accommodation.

Victoria University and Massey University are deemed high risk, whereas Otago, Lincoln, and Waikato are labelled orange risk.
