Police are committed to improving the safety for workers carrying out roadside camera operations

A car crashed into a parked police van at speed on Auckland's North Shore in 2021 - the car's driver died and the operator was left with life-changing injuries.
Police have pledged to enhance their induction and training; and create a 'critical risk team'.
Deputy Police Commissioner Jevon McSkimming says they're making a number of other changes as well.
He says they're adding the use of seatbelts and other safety measures that can be used by those operating a camera.
