Two men aged 18-and -19 have been arrested - accused of a phishing scam sending millions of texts impersonating trusted establishments

Police say the scam's been been circulating since November 2022, and ramped up last year.

It's estimated some who gave bank information lost savings between 10-thousand-and-100 thousand dollars.

Two UK nationals were arrested at a central Auckland address - and Police found numerous laptops, phones, SIM cards, and electronics.

The pair face 22 charges each.
